Sheltered Housing
What is Sheltered Housing?
Sheltered Housing consists of a number of self contained dwellings designed
with the independent elderly in mind. One of our team of Housing Support
Officers will visit tenants on a regular basis. In case of emergency all
homes within Sheltered Schemes have alarm systems which allow tenants to
contact either the a Housing Support Officer or a 24 hour Care Control
Centre for assistance. All our sheltered housing schemes have community/day
rooms and other facilities which are available to tenants and external agencies to hire.
Who is eligible for Sheltered
Housing?
Sheltered Housing is normally allocated to persons
who are 60 years of age or over. Age, however, is
not the sole criterion and other factors such as illness
or disability can be taken into consideration. An informal eligibility assessment is necessary before a property is allocated to you.
