Sheltered Housing

What is Sheltered Housing?

Sheltered Housing consists of a number of self contained dwellings designed with the independent elderly in mind. One of our team of Housing Support Officers will visit tenants on a regular basis. In case of emergency all homes within Sheltered Schemes have alarm systems which allow tenants to contact either the a Housing Support Officer or a 24 hour Care Control Centre for assistance. All our sheltered housing schemes have community/day rooms and other facilities which are available to tenants and external agencies to hire.

Who is eligible for Sheltered Housing?

Sheltered Housing is normally allocated to persons who are 60 years of age or over. Age, however, is not the sole criterion and other factors such as illness or disability can be taken into consideration. An informal eligibility assessment is necessary before a property is allocated to you.

We currently have 8 schemes.

Designated Bungalows

Pembrook Gardens, Tenbury Wells

In addition we have a variety of bungalows that are designated for the over 55's. These are ideal for those requiring independence and privacy. For added peace of mind they also come with the benefit of an alarm system which links directly with a control centre in the event of an emergency.

How do I apply?

If you wish to be considered for Sheltered or Designated Housing in the Herefordshire area, you need to be registered with Home-Point.

If you are interested in the Cornwall Gardens scheme which is in the Malvern Hills District Council area, you will need to contact Festival Housing on 01684 579579. We ask for nominations when properties become available.

If you would like to know more about an individual scheme you can contact the Supported Housing Team Leader who will be happy to provide you with the information. Alternatively contact us at any of our offices. Telephone number: 01568 619610
