As Chris Boote hung up his housing boots he waived the usual leaving gift in favour of a charity fundraiser.  Director of Operations, Chris Boote retired from Marches last week after working for the Association for over 13years and chose Acorns Children’s Hospice as his favoured charity.

DSCF0657His parting wish was that money would go to a worthwhile cause and so an event was organised by his colleagues to raise money for Acorns.  The event held in Chris’ honour saw colleagues; past and present, friends and family joining together to play games, compete, eat and drink to raise over £400.  A justgiving site added to the total from absent friends and acquaintances.

Chris Boote said “It has been a huge honour to work for Marches; the Association has come from humble beginnings to become a successful housing business; the Association is in a strong position to take on the challenges facing the housing sector.  The sense of family is what makes it such a great place to work”.

In his place, two new Heads of Service take up the reins; Albert Higgins as Head of Asset Management and Ros White as Head of Housing.

Chris was also invited to plant a tree at the Associations’ office in Leominster as lasting reminder of all years of hard work and dedication.
