Changes afoot at Humber Close PDF Print E-mail

Date: 9th June 2010

Residents at Humber Close, Steensbridge, have been meeting regularly with Marches Housing Association, Herefordshire Council for Voluntary Youth Services, The Reach Project, Herefordshire Voluntary Action, and the Local Policing Team; the meetings have been to come up with some new and exciting ideas to expand and develop the play area.

humberThe current play area has seen little change or development since it was erected by the Parish Council over 25 years ago; and whilst it has stood the test of time and been well used by generations of residents, the group would now like to expand and enhance this area  with some new and up to date equipment.

Each session has been great fun as well as productive, with activities such as messy play, face painting, sumo wrestling and space hopper racing, to name but a few.  To make sure the voices of the younger members of the community were heard Wildplay Rangers from Herefordshire Nature Trust came along to the consultation and helped children make drawings and paintings of the way they like to play.

These events have enabled both the very young and the older generation of Humber Close to work together on a project which will benefit their whole community.
