Saturday workshops at Paradise Court PDF Print E-mail
Date: 18th December 2009
Marches Housing, Herefordshire Council, the Learning Skills Council and Scene 6 have been working together to bring a series of workshops to the people of Leominster at Paradise Court.

Running for 15weeks from 21st November on Saturdays are two courses for young and old.  From 10am till 12pm is a Community News workshop where tutors will help participants to plan and produce a community newspaper and improve their writing skills along the way and will lead to qualifications in English if appropriate.

Following the News workshop at 12.30 for 2 hours is the Computers Made Easy workshop.  The first part of this course will cover the basics of computer use – from switching on to managing files and folders and word-processing.

The course will then move beyond the basics into areas such as desk-top publishing, making cards and leaflets, using photographs and computer art, depending on the interests and needs of the students. It will be useful for anyone who is just starting to use a computer, and for those with a little more experience. The course will also last for fifteen weeks.

The sessions are informal and led by experienced and qualified tutors, come along for one or both, it’s free.
