The winners of the Marches Annual Gardening competition were announced at an awards ceremony at The Garden at the Bannut. There were 15 winners across the 4 categories and some additional special awards. The judges were so impressed by what everyone had achieved despite the washout weather.The winners were treated to day out at The Garden at the Bannut, Bringsty where they had a tour of the gardens, received their prizes and enjoyed tea and cake. Winners in each category were: Best Front/Rear Garden Joint 1st place-Mr & Mrs Jones, Moccas Joint 1st place-Eva Floyd, Eardisley 3rd place-Mr Preece, Shobdon Best Communal Garden 1st Lilleshall Lodge-Shrewsbury 2nd Norfolk House-Leominster Joint 3rd Eaton Close, Leominster Joint 3rd Arkwright Court, Leominster Best Vegetable Garden 1st Suzanne France, Cleobury Mortimer 2nd Wendy Watts, Kington No 3rd place Best Hanging Baskets/planters 1st Mrs Wall, Leominster 2nd Mrs Turner, Leominster 3rd Tanya Fenwick Hope-under-Dinmore Judges Special Award Mr Brian Furnival, Leominster. Awarded for outstanding effort. A small garden with a big WOW factor. Highly Commended Cennick Crt, Leominster. Best Communal Garden Mrs Griffiths, Kington. Best Hanging Basket/Container
