Involvement
Our ethos
'We aim to treat others as we aim to be treated ourselves'
Marches Housing Association is committed to promoting
and supporting tenant involvement that allows tenants
to be able to influence decisions that affect the
management of their homes and the services we provide.
We need you to get involved, and recognise that everyone
is different so we need to have a flexible approach
to methods of getting involved.
We have several existing methods and are developing
new ways in our new Resident Involvement Strategy
that will be developed from 2005 to 2008.
Our aims
- To provide services which are accountable
and responsive to tenants needs and preferences.
- To achieve a better understanding
and relationship between Marches its tenants and
stakeholders
- To enable and encourage the involvement
of a broad range of tenants in accordance with Marches's
equal opportunity policy.
- To support and encourage tenant
participation by developing methods that suit the
needs of our tenants.
- To build stable communities and
the capacity of tenants and residents so that they
can take greater responsibility for the decisions
that affect them.
Our Statement on Tenant and Resident Involvement
We have developed, in partnership, with our Tenants and Residents a statement that sets out our aims and what we want to achieve by providing opportunities for tenants and residents to influence the way we work.
The words used in this statement were created by tenants and residents in partnership with staff working for the Association:
The aim of tenant involvement is to work in partnership with our residents to improve the quality of life and services for all. We will do this by involving everyone in all areas of the business, listen to views and be accessible. We will encourage participation and have good two-way communication. We will inspire confidence in our residents to make MHA the best".
